We work to have the big decisions figured out before construction starts. That way, once we're building, we don't spend valuable time chasing missing selections or sorting through questions we could have answered earlier.

You should be involved in your project, but you shouldn't have to manage the people building it. Here's what you can expect from H&H once construction gets underway.

What Will H&H Builds Need From Me During Construction?

H&H Builds handles the day-to-day construction work, but timely decisions and having materials ready when needed can make a big difference in keeping your project on schedule.

Ideally, major selections and design decisions are finalized before construction begins. Once work is underway, we'll let you know if something needs your attention or approval and when materials need to be available.

For larger projects, working with a designer can also help keep selections organized and reduce last-minute decisions.

H&H Builds communicates with you as often as needed during construction, providing updates on project progress, upcoming work, schedule changes, and any issues that need attention. We also use BuilderTrend, our construction management software, to help keep project information organized.

During construction, you can expect updates about:

What's been completed and what's happening next
Upcoming work or milestones that may affect you
Questions or decisions that need your input
Unexpected issues and how we plan to address them
Changes that may affect your project's schedule

What Will Construction Be Like at My House?

During construction, H&H Builds coordinates jobsite access, material deliveries, and equipment placement while working to minimize unnecessary disruption to your property and daily routine.

Before work begins, we'll discuss the site logistics with you, including how crews will access the property, where materials and equipment will go, and any specific considerations for your home.

If you're living in your home during a remodel or addition, expect some noise, dust, and interruptions to your normal routine. The amount of disruption depends on the scope of your project and which areas of the house are affected.

We'll work with you to establish expectations for the construction area, property access, and jobsite safety, including keeping children and pets away from active work areas.

How Does H&H Builds Handle Unexpected Issues or Delays During Construction?

When unexpected conditions or delays arise, H&H Builds explains what's happening, discusses possible solutions, and looks for ways to keep construction moving.

Major remodels and custom construction can bring surprises, including hidden structural issues, unexpected plumbing problems, or material delays. When something comes up, we'll work to understand the issue and explain what it means for your project, including any potential cost or schedule impacts.

We'll also look at whether other work can move forward while the issue is being addressed. Sometimes rearranging the schedule helps recover lost time. Other times, a delay is unavoidable.
